NEW ORLEANS—Four of Louisiana’s finest young farmers and ranchers competed in the final round of the Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation’s Young Farmers and Ranchers Discussion Meet June 23rd at the Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation’s 100th Annual Convention at the New Orleans Marriott. When the dust had settled and the tractors were parked in the shed, Amanda Duhon, a farm wife from Maurice, Louisiana, had earned the right to represent the Louisiana Farm Bureau at the American Farm Bureau Federation’s 104th Annual Convention in San Juan, Puerto Rico in January.

This year, he’s got something new on the farm—the 2021 Young Farmer and Rancher Achievement Award. The award was presented during the Louisiana Farm Bureau Annual Convention, held partly in person and online for the second year in a row.

That was the motto Stephen Simoneaux said he used to win the Young Farmers & Ranchers Discussion Meet at the 96th Annual Louisiana Farm Bureau Convention here at the Marriott Hotel June 21.

NEW ORLEANS — Adam Caughern, a 32-year-old Caddo Parish farmer, won the Young Farmers and Ranchers Discussion Meet contest at the 95th annual Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation State Convention. Participants in the competition simulate a meeting to discuss important agricultural issues.
