NEW ORLEANS—18‑year‑old Anna Hebert of Assumption Parish, Louisiana is the winner of the 2026 Louisiana Farm Bureau Talk Meet Contest, held during the 104th Annual Farm Bureau Convention in New Orleans.

Hebert earned top honors with a compelling speech addressing the question: “How can farmers and ranchers balance environmental stewardship with financial success on their farms?” Her presentation blended practical insight, personal conviction and a clear vision for the future of Louisiana agriculture.

Louisiana Farm Bureau President Richard Fontenot presents Anna Hebert of Assumption Parish the first place prize for winning the 2026 Talk Meet.

Although not raised on a farm, Hebert developed a deep love for agriculture after joining FFA as a freshman at Assumption High School in Napoleonville.

“From FFA I was able to explore all aspects of agricultural life and got so invested that I became so passionate about the land we live on and it’s help me grow into the person I am,” said Hebert.

Hebert was one of 18 contestants competing for the top spot. Contestants from each parish, ranging in age from 15 to 19, are eligible to compete.

This fall, Hebert plans to attend LSU to study Plant and Soil Sciences, continuing her commitment to supporting Louisiana’s agricultural future.

The Talk Meet competition is designed to help young leaders sharpen their communication skills, deepen their agricultural knowledge and prepare to advocate for the farming and ranching community.

Hebert received $200 cash for winning the Talk Meet contest.
