Louisiana’s sugarcane producers were encouraged following the Louisiana Farm Bureau Sugar Conference at the annual Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation Convention at the New Orleans Marriott.
“Sugar is the top commodity of the year,” said Jeff Dobrydney to the farmers, mill operators and ag lenders who gathered in the Marriott’s Preservation Hall. “Prices are up 30% worldwide and looks to stay strong.”

“A committee should never be a debate but rather the opportunity to discuss differentiating ideas and come to a conclusion,” said Manuel. “It also allows us to bring diverse perspectives to the table.”

The Duncans raise cattle and soybeans on their farm in Rapides Parish, and they are also raising three young daughters who they hope will someday become the fifth generation of their family to farm.
