A record number of Louisiana farmers and ranchers started arriving in New Orleans Wednesday for the state's largest farm convention.
The Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation is holding its 95th annual convention at the New Orleans Marriott Thursday through Sunday.
Louisiana Farm Bureau President Ronnie Anderson said convention registration is at an all-time high.
"We're almost at 1,400 people registered to come, which is probably 250 to 300 more than we've been having," said Anderson. "That's a really good sign that people are interested in the issues that we're dealing with."
Several political figures will make an appearance at the convention, including Senator John Kennedy, Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser, Congressman Ralph Abraham, Commissioner of Agriculture and Forestry Dr. Mike Strain and several state senators and representatives.
