Discussion Meet

Thursday, June 21 at 8:30 am, 9:30 am & 2:30 pm
Salon E, 3rd Floor

This competition is designed to simulate a committee meeting environment where discussion and active participation are expected from each participant. Successful participants are productive thinkers rather than emotional persuaders and assist the group in creating ways to implement the solutions discussed and highlight Farm Bureau’s involvement in those actions/steps.

Excellence in Ag

The Excellence in Agriculture competition is designed as an opportunity for young farmers and ranchers to earn recognition, while actively contributing and growing though their involvement in Farm Bureau and agriculture. The ideal candidate(s) for the Excellence in Agriculture Award is an individual or couple who does not have the majority of his/her income subject to normal production risk.

Farm Bureau Awards

The Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation Awards Program is designed to recognize parish Farm Bureaus for outstanding program achievements, which involve leaders and members in programs to meet the needs of farmers today and tomorrow. The program measures accomplishments of parish Farm Bureaus in the areas of Quota, Membership, Public Relations, Women’s Leadership Activities, etc.

Talk Meet

Friday, June 21 at 9 am

The Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation’s Talk Meet competition is designed for youth, ages 15-19, to showcase their public speaking skills. Contestants are given a question concerning a top agricultural issue.  They prepare and deliver a speech that presents their point of view and solutions on the issue they are given.

Have you ever wanted to know more about the Louisiana Agriculture in the Classroom (AITC) program? This is your chance! Everyone is invited to attend the AITC workshop. This hands-on workshop will give you tips and ideas on how to integrate agriculture into your classroom! 

Century Farm Awards

Hosted by the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry, the Century Farms Program recognizes and honors families that have owned Louisiana farm land for 100 years or more. Come celebrate the families who have contributed to the agricultural heritage and history of Louisiana!

The Louisiana Farm Bureau Ag in the Classroom Ice Cream Social gives you the opportunity to enjoy everyone’s favorite summer treat! You can build your own ice cream sundae while meeting fellow Louisiana Farm Bureau members. Come fill your bowls and add your toppings to make new connections!

Talent Contest

The Women’s Leadership Committee’s Junior and Senior Talent contest showcases the talents of Louisiana Farm Bureau’s youth. The young stars take to the stage and wow the crowd while trying to impress the judges to take one of the top prizes. If you enjoy singing, dancing and everything in-between, you won’t want to miss it!

LSU Agriculture Social

LSU’s College of Agriculture and the LSU AgCenter are inviting all to join them for a social during the annual Farm Bureau Convention. This is a great opportunity to visit with Dr. Bill Richardson, LSU’s V.P. of Agriculture & Dean of the College of Agriculture, alumni and friends of agriculture! You won’t want to miss out on this networking opportunity!

Farm Bureau Friday Night

This is your chance to pass a good time with your fellow Louisiana Farm Bureau members, who you might only see once a year. Come down to the lobby. Break some bread. Take a few pictures in the photo booth. Most importantly, have fun. The Marriott is offering food and beverage discounts and a D.J. will be playing all of your favorite music.

Queen's Contest

Saturday, June 22 at 5:30 pm
Carondelet, 3rd Floor

The ballroom fills with sparkling gowns and a passion for agriculture. Young ladies selected by their parishes will compete for a chance to be the next Louisiana Farm Bureau Queen. One lucky young lady will get the opportunity to travel the state of Louisiana and go to the nation’s capital serving as an ambassador for Louisiana Farm Bureau during her reign.
