Louisiana Century Farm Award Recipients Named at 2018 Louisiana Farm Bureau Convention

NEW ORLEANS — Six Louisiana families are the recipients of the Louisiana Century Farm Award. This award, administered by the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry (LDAF) and the LSU AgCenter, is given to families who have owned and consistently farmed on Louisiana land for at least 100 years.

NEW ORLEANS — More face-to-face communication with the urban population is one of the strongest tools farmers can use to help public perception of the family farm, according to Bret Lee, 19, of Abbeville who took first place in the Talk Meet Contest at the 96th Annual Convention of the Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation.

NEW ORLEANS - Breleigh Bentivegna of East St. James Parish and the brother duo of Ashton and Ivan Aucoin of Calcasieu Parish took first place honors in their divisions at the talent show of the 96th Annual Convention of the Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation at the New Orleans Marriott Hotel June 22.

NEW ORLEANS—For the second year in a row, the Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation recognized the Rapides Parish Farm Bureau with the President’s Award. Rapides Parish Farm Bureau President Bill Cheek accepted the award on stage Thursday night at the 96th Annual Meeting of the Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation.
